VERIFICATIONS
The ESU Academic Records Office provides the following verifications:
- Enrollment verifications for health insurance
- Enrollment verifications for student loan deferrment
- GPA verification for good student discounts
- Attendance and degree verification
Enrollment Verification
Verification of enrollment for health insurance purposes or student loan deferrment shows date issued, student name, social security number, and enrollment information by semester. Enrollment information includes beginning and ending dates of the semester and whether the student was a full-time, half-time, or less than half-time student by dates. If the student has filed a contract for a degree, the verification will also show the anticipated date of graduation.
Verification of enrollment may be requested by the student, parent, insurance company, bank, or loan company. A picture ID is not required. The request may be made in person at the Academic Records Office, Plumb Hall, Room 108D, by phone at 620/341-5419, or in writing to:
-
Emporia State University
Academic Records, Box 4026
1200 Commercial Street
Emporia, KS 66801-5087
The information needed for the verification request is the student's name, social security number, semester date to verify, and the full address where the verification is to be sent.
G.P.A. Verification
Verification of a student's G.P.A. for good student discounts must be made in person with a picture ID and with the insurance company form. Any requests for student G.P.A., other than from the student, requires a signed authorization by the student for the release of the G.P.A. to a third party.
Attendance
Verification of attendance may be requested by phone or in writing. ESU cannot release a student's G.P.A. without the student's signed authorization, however, we can verify a G.P.A. if it is provided by the individual requesting the verification.
Degree Verification
Verification of degree received and date of graduation may be requested by phone, in writing or by e-mail. ESU cannot release a student's G.P.A. without the student's signed authorization, however, we can verify a G.P.A. if it is provided by the individual requesting the verification.
