KSTC, EKSC, C of E

The university was established in March of 1863 as the Kansas State Normal School. In February, 1923, the name of the school was changed to the Kansas State Teachers College. In July, 1974, the name was changed to Emporia Kansas State College. On April 21, 1977, the college became Emporia State University. The Kansas Board of Regents, established in 1925, is the governing body for ESU.

The Academic Records Office, located in Plumb Hall 108D, is responsible for maintaining and storing all official transcripts and student files. Transcripts have been maintained since the college was established in 1863. Complete student files are maintained for ten years. Emporia State University is also the custodian of offical transcripts for the College of Emporia which closed in 1973 (transcripts are the only records maintained for C of E).

Requests for official transcripts should be directed to:

    Emporia State University
    Academic Records - Box 4026
    1200 Commercial Street
    Emporia, KS 66801-5087
