Students whose first enrollment in an accredited college or university occurred in the Fall of 1990 or later must complete a general education curriculum in order to graduate from Emporia State University regardless of major.

Students whose first enrollment in a college or university was in the Fall of 1996 or later must complete at least one general education  course that has been designated as multicultural intensive.  Students who have completed their general education program without a mulicultural intensive section of a Cultural Literacy course can meet this requirement by taking a course selected from the Ethnic/Gener Studies of the ESU schedule of classes.
