Fall 2007 Calendar

July 20, Friday    

Billing statements will be mailed to students who pre-enroll by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2007. Students enrolling after 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, WILL NOT BE SENT A BILL. STUDENTS MUST CONTACT CASHIERING SERVICES TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR PAYMENT OF TUITION AND FEES.

ATTENTION ENROLLED STUDENTS

August 13, Monday

DEADLINE -- Students who pre-enrolled must pay fees or make arrangements for a deferment by 4:00 P.M. ON MONDAY, AUGUST 13, TO AVOID LOSING THEIR SCHEDULED CLASSES.  Fee deferments and installment contracts must be arranged for on the Payment Agreement Form or in person.

NEW UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS:

AUGUST 14, TUESDAY

New undergraduate students who have not previously attended ESU.

“SWARM”, the new student program, will be held in the Kanza Room of the Memorial Union beginning at 9:00 a.m. (This program consists of an introduction to ESU, advisement, class enrollment, and fee payment for new freshmen and new transfer students, who DID NOT attend a new student program during the spring or summer.)

August 15, Wednesday

Classes begin, day, evening, & Internet.  Drop & add classes in Plumb Hall offices. (SAC advisees go to 206 Plumb Hall.)


August 18, Saturday

First meeting of Saturday Classes

*Late fees are subject to change.


August 15, Wednesday

*$25 LATE FEE is assessed for all full-time students.  Part-time students enrolled in day classes are assessed a *$15 LATE FEE.

[NOTE: Students enrolled in workshops, second block classes or  other classes

must pay fees by 5:00 p.m. on the Monday of the week in which the class begins

to avoid late fee assessmests.]


August 16, Thursday

*$30 LATE FEE is assessed for all full-time students.


August 17, Friday

*$35 LATE FEE is assessed for all full-time students.


August 20, Monday

*$40 LATE FEE is assessed on this day through the 20th day of classes (September 12) for all full-time students.


August 21, Tuesday

*$25 LATE FEE is assessed on this day through the 20th day of classes (September 12, 2007) for all part-time students taking day classes.


August 28, Tuesday-Tenth day of classes

Last day to enroll in classes.

Last day to withdraw from the university with full refund, less any processing fee            Last day of official drop period--no transcript entry for classes dropped on or before this date. (Based on calendar days–1st thru 15th calendar days.  August 28th is the last business day to drop with a full refund).


September 3, Monday

Labor Day Holiday--no classes.


September 7, Friday

DEADLINE for registration and fee payment for the September  29 and October 6, CAAP competency exam. NON-Teacher Education Students & Teacher Education Students.  Register and pay exam fee in the Assessment Center, Morse Complex 023.


September 12, Wednesday

Twentieth day of classes


September 13, Thursday

*$50 LATE FEE is assessed on this day and thereafter for all students, full-time and part-time.


September 14, Friday

Juniors should contact their advisors and submit a major contract and request a degree check in the Degree Analysis Office (108H Plumb Hall). This may be done whenever the student’s degree objective becomes definite.  The deadline is October 12 for students expecting to receive an undergraduate degree in December, 2008.


September 15, Saturday

PRAXIS exams, 7:30 a.m., Visser Hall


September 29, Saturday

October 5, Friday

End of 8th week.

Instructors must evaluate students’ progress by end of 8th week.

October 9, Tuesday

Midterm grades are due.


October 11, Thursday

Midterm grades are available for viewing on Buzz In.


October 12, Friday

Deadline for students expecting to receive an undergraduate degree in December, 2008, to submit a major contract and request a degree check in the Degree Analysis Office, 108H Plumb Hall.

End of first block

Second block begins.

October 24, Wednesday

Last day to withdraw from a class and receive automatic "W" on transcript (10 weeks).

October 25-26, Thursday-Friday

                  Fall Break, no classes.

Graduate students intending to graduate in May 2008 must file the "Intent to Graduate" form with the Graduate Office, 313 Plumb Hall.


November 12, Monday

Veterans' Day Holiday, no classes.


November 20, Tuesday

Thanksgiving vacation begins at 10:00 p.m.


November 26, Monday

Classes resume, 8:00 a.m.


December 7, Friday

Last day of classes.


December 10-14, Monday-Friday

Final examinations.


December 15, Saturday

Commencement.


December 18, Tuesday

Final grades are due.
