INTRAMURAL DIVISION COMPETITION
POINT SYSTEM

All Intramural leagues and most team and individual intramural activities will be held to allow for points to be scored toward an annual “All-Sport” Championship Plaque. Points are earned by Individuals and Teams for their organizations or independent team throughout the academic Year. At the end of the Academic Year, the organization or team in each division with the highest point total is recognized with an “All-Sport” Championship Plaque for their respective division.

Competition for the “All-Sport” Championship Plaque is held within divisions. The Divisions are 1Fraternity, 2Sorority, 3Residence Hall Men, 4Residence Hall Women, 5Independent Men, 6Independent Women, 7International, and 8Coed.

When designing league schedules, a team may be scheduled to play against teams from different divisions to provide adequate competitive opportunities. However, points toward Division Championships will only be scored when competing against teams within a division. During league play, when competing against teams from other divisions, points can’t be earned. For each intramural league sport, there will be a post season tournament for each of the divisions, and ONLY teams from each specific division will be placed in their respective tournament.

If a person transfers from one organization or independent team to another during the year, all points previously acquired by that individual shall remain with the original organization or team. Subsequent points will accrue with the team currently being represented during a specific competition.

Active members of Fraternities and Sororities may compete with their house or may choose to represent a team from another division, but not both. In order for a person to represent an organization he/she must be a certified member of that organization. Their name must appear on the house membership list and meet other eligibility requirements before being allowed to participate with their house. All Greek organizations must have ESU recognition.

The majority of persons competing in a residence hall division team must live in the respective residence hall and reside on the floor wing for which they compete. Residence hall floors can combine with other floors from their respective residence halls, however combined floor teams will accrue points as a combined team and points will not be distributed to either one floor team or the other, should the team split into two teams for different leagues or activities. Intramural points acquired by teams or individuals will be awarded to the team he/she is affiliated with. Exceptions are fraternity men and sorority women living in residence halls, or others wishing to compete with independent organizations. An individual person through competition in intramural activities cannot accrue points for more than one team in one division. If a person transfers from one organization to another during the year, all points previously acquired by that individual shall remain with the original organization. (i.e. individuals can change teams, but their points stay with the team for which they were earned.)
