Lana Oleen

Lana Oleen of Manhattan earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from ESU and is a Kansas Master Teacher. She served 16 years as a state senator representing the Manhattan-Junction City-Fort Riley area and was Kansas Senate majority leader. She also served as director in the former Kansas Department of Human Resources, which is now the Department of Labor. She formed a consulting firm in 2005 and concentrates in issues regarding higher education, nonprofit foundations and tribal governments. She recently served as interim president of the Midwestern Higher Education Compact and is a member of the ESU Alumni Association and ESU Foundation boards.
