Humanities and Social Sciences:

Students will be required to complete 15-18 semester hours in the area of humanities and social science,

depending upon the field of engineering. In selecting courses, students should follow these guidelines:

A. At least one course designated as a humanties (HU) course, and 1 designated as a social science (SS)

course.

B. At least two courses offered by 1 department.

C. A maximum of four credits from such areas as band, chorus, orchestra, drawing, painting, and

sculpture may be acceptable, at the discretion of the respective departments.

Courses that may be taken at Emporia State University to fulfill these requirements include:

Anthropology Any course except AN100, AN355, AN356 (SS)

Art Only AR225, AR235 accepted (HU)

Economics Any course above EC103 (SS)
