Professional Development Session Procedures

1. Any PDS must be accepted by any department faculty to be placed on the official PDS calendar.  Information appearing on the calendar includes the title of the session or speaker’s name and affiliation and presentation title.  The office staff will use this information to produce the advertising signage.

2. The PDS sponsor must determine the appropriate room based on the projected student attendance and make arrangements for a larger room if one is needed.

3. The PDS sponsor must coordinate with the presenter to insure that all technology requirements are sufficient.

4. The PDS sponsor must print out the official PDS Sign-In Sheet (see link on the PDS web page and have it ready for students to sign.

5. The PDS sponsor must check out the camcorder and VCR tape in the main office and then set it up to record the PDS.

6. The PDS sponsor must assist the presenter with preparing equipment needed for the presentation and be available throughout the presentation for technological assistance.

7. At the completion of the PDS, the sponsor will 1) check the equipment in at the main office, 2) label the VCR tape and take to the Resource Center, and 3) place the PDS Sign-In Sheet in the Advising mailbox in the department mail room.
