About Us

The Emporia State University Family Hornet Organization provides communication between the University and families of our students in order to support student success, generate goodwill for the University, and promote an appropriate role for parents within the campus community.

  The Family Hornet Organization, in collaboration with Student SUCCESS, assists families understand the student experience; support student learning, and empower students to take personal responsibility for their social and academic choices.

  We understand the vital role parents play in the college experience, and we want to partner with you to ensure your student's success at ESU. In addition to communicating your needs and concerns to University administration, we are here to educate you about student development and appropriate ways to help your college student become an independent and involved citizen.

  Being an involved parent is more crucial now than ever. Students need to know they have support as they navigate college life and strive to excel in a very competitive arena. Research studies have shown that the more parents are involved, the more likely it is a student will remain enrolled and proceed to graduation. Parent involvement at ESU is encouraged!
