Myth
Students do not have the funds for studying abroad.
Fact
Financial Aid is available to all eligible students for studying abroad. Emporia State has many study abroad opportunities for the same price as Emporia State's own tuition, room, and board. Scholarships are also available.
Myth
Students do not have the language skills to study abroad.
Fact
Students have the option of studying in English in many non-English-speaking countries while learning about an entirely new culture and way of life. Students interested in a foreign language also have many options.
Myth
Students do not have enough time to study abroad.
Fact
With careful planning, studying abroad will not delay your date of graduation. ESU facilitates the transfer of study abroad credits. You can earn credits towards almost any major, or even fulfill General Education requirements while overseas. Study abroad programs are available year-round: by semester, summer/short term, and/or even a full year.
