English Proficiency Requirements
Admittance to the Intensive English Program
TOEFL Scores and English Proficiency Test
Undergraduate students with a TOEFL score of 500 and above and graduate
students with a TOEFL score of 550 or above can enroll in academic
classes.
Undergraduates with scores between 500 and 520 will take only the
writing component of the Intensive English program's placement test
and may be required to take an IEP writing course.
Graduates with scores between 550 and 575 must take the graduate
level IEP course FL 075, Communication Skills for International Students.
Undergraduates with a 520 TOEFL and graduates with a 575 TOEFL can
begin full-time study immediately.
Undergraduates with scores below 500 and graduates with scores below 550 will take the English Placement Test to determine their placement.
