EMPORIA, KAN. - The National Teachers Hall of Fame is gearing up for its 14th annual auction. This year's auction will be held on Nov. 17 which is National Philanthropic Day. All proceeds from the auction will be used to support the NTHF’s educational programs that address the recognition, recruitment, and retention of early career teachers.
The auction will begin at 6:05 p.m. It can be heard on KVOE 14000 and items can be viewed on Emporia cable channel 18. There will also be a silent auction at the NTHF offices beginning Nov. 14 at 8:30 a.m. and concluding Nov. 17 at 5:15 p.m.
Nearly 100 items or packages will be offered during the course of the radio auction on Nov. 17. Among the items on the block are weekend getaways to Topeka and Kansas City, vacation lodging, tickets to the Dallas Museum of Art, one-week stay at a beach house in Mexico Beach, Fla., artwork, jewelry, celebrity-autographed item and a variety of gift certificates.
