SINGLE PARENTS WITH CHILDREN SCHOLARSHIP

APPLICATIONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE!

        The Single Parents with Children scholarship was established to assist single, divorced, or widowed Emporia State University students who are raising children and attending school simultaneously. Scholarship funds in the amount of $2000 are awarded for the academic year, with half of the disbursement in the fall semester and the remainder in the spring semester.

      To be eligible for the scholarship the following criteria must be met:

        1. Be a single parent with custody of children
        2. Must complete the Free Application for Student Federal Aid (FASFA) for the school year in which the scholarship is to be received.
        3. Demonstrate financial need, which is determined from the information provided on the FASFA.
        4. Enrolled at ESU in at least 12 credit hours for the fall semester of the 2008-2009 school year.

      To apply, print off the application form found on the left of this page (SPC Scholarship Application link) or pick up an application in the Student Success Office, located in the Memorial Union. The deadline for submitting applications is March 14, 2008.   Send applications to:

      As part of a student’s financial aid package, each year a limited number of childcare grants are made available through the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) for students with children. The requirements and amounts vary and are determined each year by the EOF Committee. Applications are usually available beginning in December and can be obtained from the
      Financial Aid Office
      , 103 Plumb Hall, 341-5457 or the Department of Residential Life, 308 South Morse Hall, 341-5264. Applications are due at the Financial Aid Office by February 2!
