ESU student-athletes work on Habitat for Humanity house

Kylie Bookout, ESU cross country team member, and Ranea Weaver, track team member, were catching some sunshine while painting outside on the Market St. Habitat home.

A soon-to-be-completed Habitat for Humanity house in Emporia boasts the work of some ESU student athletes. Members of ESU’s women’s basketball, cross-country and track teams spent part of a recent Saturday assisting Emporia Area Habitat for Humanity by painting the interior and exterior of the house at 115 Market St.

Students who picked up paint brushes in support of the project included Jamie Augustyn, Burlington; Tiffany Baum, Stillwater, Okla.; Kylie Bookout, El Dorado; Cassandra Boston, Des Moines, Iowa; Tina Commons, Emporia; Amy Craig, Baldwin City; Kathryn Davidson, Topeka; Ida Edwards, Yazoo City, Miss.; Morgan Frehe, Desoto; Kayla Kruger, Olpe; Andrea Leiker, Lyons; Allie Renberg, Sleepy Eye, Minn.; Shanta Spencer, Jefferson City, Mo.; Alli Volkens, Reinbeck, Iowa; and Ranae Weaver, Barnes.
