Fall roster for Emporia State’s student Ambassadors organization announced

Thirty-four Emporia State University students have been chosen to represent their university in the prestigious Ambassadors organization for the 2009-10 academic year. The award-winning group brings together some of ESU’s most capable student leaders in the cause of serving the university.

Now, 19 new members join 15 returning Ambassadors for a new school year, set to record thousands of service hours in their duties as ESU’s hosts. ESU’s Ambassadors conduct daily campus tours for prospective students and parents, host events for the ESU president, represent ESU at the Kansas State Fair, sponsor Senior Week, appear at Homecoming and Advancement events, and more.

“The 2009-2010 Ambassadors are among the best and brightest that ESU has to offer,” said Nikki Metz, alumni programs coordinator and the group’s advisor. “We’re excited to get the group together for a retreat in August and start the year off with E-Zone activities, alumni events, and Homecoming.”

Metz spoke especially highly of the group’s new executive team. “They have quite a legacy to follow,” said Metz, “and I am sure at the end of the year they will leave behind a legacy of their own.”

New and returning members applied and interviewed for a spot on the 2009-10 roster. The 2009-10 Ambassadors are:
