Physics grad wins fellowship
For Courtney Knaup (BS Physics, 2009), it's been a busy summer. First, there was graduation in May. Then his marriage in July to Kaitlyn Leopold (BS Elementary Education, 2009).
And now, he's headed to the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio as one of only two winners of graduate fellowships awarded by the Radiological Society of North America and the American Association of Physicists in Medicine.
The fellowship means $18,000 a year for two years of study as Knaup pursues a Ph.D. in medical physics.
Knaup took some time this summer to sit down at his parents' house in Wichita
– along with Sophie, the family dog
– and talk about his coming career.
