Hornet Helpers haul to the halls
A brigade of yellow tshirt-clad volunteers descended on Emporia State University's residence halls Sunday, Aug. 16, part of the annual Hornet Helper move-in experience for students.
The people helping students and their parents unload those refrigerators, microwaves, clothes and computers might have been a college dean...a faculty member...or even the provost.
Cass Coughlin, director of residence life, says the volunteer move-in crew helps incoming ESU students learn the university's culture of caring and helpfulness. And he hopes the parents and students enjoy the extra help getting moved in.
