Beta Alpha Psi Team wins regional competition
The ESU team that presented the Best Practices project for service learning for the Lambda Psi chapter walked away with first place at the Beta Alpha Psi Missouri Valley Region in Omaha, April 3-4, 2009. The ESU team consists of MBA students Beau Bemis, Ottawa; Robert Carr, Andover; and Wanjin Xie and Bing Luo, China.
The Service Learning project dealt with reviewing and recommending changes for a local non-denominational church's accounting system and controls. The team has been asked to represent the region in national competition at the Beta Alpha Psi annual meeting in August in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Beta Alpha Psi is the international honorary organization for financial information professionals. Traditionally, it is best known as the honorary accounting fraternity, but all accounting, finance, and information systems students who meet the qualifications are welcome.
