ESU pianists place in KMTA competition

Piano students from Emporia State University won the top two places at a state collegiate piano competition Nov. 10-11 in Wichita. The Kansas Music Teachers Association sponsored the event.
Angel Yang won first place in the graduate division. Feifei Jiang took second place in the same division. They are both graduate piano performance majors at ESU, and come from Dalian, China.
They are students of Dr. Martín Cuéllar, ESU associate professor of piano, and will join other students of Cuéllar in presenting a piano concert Sunday, Nov. 18 at 3 p.m. in Beach Hall’s Heath Recital Hall on the Emporia State campus. This concert is being dedicated to Elaine Edwards, professor emerita from ESU.
