ESU Facilities’ hot dogs and prizes raise more than $2,000 for scholarships
The annual hot dog feed and prize drawing held by University Facilities on Friday raised $2,234 for student scholarships. The money will be split between the Classified Personnel Dependent/Child Scholarship and the Presidential Academic Awards Scholarship program.
“University Facilities wishes to thank all those who participated and donated in this fund raiser,” said Mark Runge, director of facilities. “The results far exceeded our expectations, which only does more for our students. We are glad that we were able to provide this opportunity to the campus community to show support for current and future ESU students. Thanks again to everyone.”
The employees organize the annual event, and more people are attending each year. A little money goes a long way at the event – one dollar buys lunch, and it also buys a ticket for the drawing. More than 100 prizes were donated by area businesses, and Friday’s drawing sent many home for the weekend with a smile. Between the lunch and the drawing, 100 percent of University Facilities staff participated in the 2007 scholarship drive.
