Community Chorus seeks new members
Dr. Terry Barham, ESU's Community Chorus conductor, is encouraging everyone interested to come and join the Community Chorus, he is looking for about “65-70 People Who Enjoy Singing.”
Some pieces Barham has planned for the choir to sing are works by Handel, “Praise the Lord” and Klouse’s, “Benedictus,” as well as “Where have all the Flowers Gone,” and spiritual medley’s.
Music will cost approximately $19 and may be purchased at Flint Hills Music or at the first two rehearsals. Several performances are scheduled including Emporia’s 150th Anniversary Concert, Habitat for Humanity Benefit Concert, Spring Concert with A Cappella Choir and Cottonwood Falls Evening of Music.
Rehearsals are Mondays from 7-9 p.m. in Beach Music Hall room 132 on the ESU campus. There are no auditions required to join the choir. The first rehearsal is January 22, 2007.
