Contractors workshop to be held

The Kansas Small Business Development Center and Emporia State University will be hosting a “Workshop for Contractors” on Thursday, February 22, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The workshop will be presented by Terry Guy, Tax Specialist for the Kansas Dept. of Revenue. This workshop is devoted exclusively to sales tax issues for contractors, subcontractors and repairmen.  Those who provide plumbing, carpentry, electrical, roofing, heating/air conditioning, etc., services will want to attend this specialized seminar.  Discussion will be over how sales tax applies to materials and labor, Project Exemption Certificates, sales tax returns, billing, and related issues.

The workshop will be held at the American Legion Post # 5, at 2921 W. 12th Ave., Emporia, KS.  The fee for the workshop is $10.00 and must be paid in advance.
