Hornet football to be webcast
Emporia State University football fans across the nation and around the world will have the opportunity to see four of the Hornets final five football games live on the internet.
The ESU Department of Technology and Computing Services (TCS) will originate the Hornets’ two remaining home games, while ESU’s game at Missouri Western will one of CSTV’s featured Webcasts of the week on Oct. 21. The Hornets game at Washburn will be webcast by the Washburn Information Systems and Services (ISS) department.
“We are pleased to be able to bring campus events to an audience that may not normally be able to see them,” said Dr. Zeni Colorado, Director of Academic and User Support Services for TCS. “Our first Webcast was of the spring commencement and we plan on Webcasting the lieutenant governor’s debate in addition to the two football games.”
Fans will be able to access the Truman and Missouri Southern games from the ESU Athletics Web site at www.emporia.edu/athletics. Viewers will need Windows Media Player to view the stream from Emporia State. The Missouri Western game will be available at www.cstv.com/ncaa/dii while the Washburn game will be available from www.washburn.edu/php/iss/sports. The audio portion of the stream will be provided by the local radio station in all four instances. All of the Webcasts will be free, however registration will be required for the Washburn game.
The Webcasts originated by Emporia State will begin one hour prior to kickoff with the radio pregame show from KFFXFM. The CSTV broadcast from Missouri Western will begin at kickoff while the Washburn broadcast will begin approximately 15 minutes prior to kick-off.
