ESU Student Foundation Illuminates Campus with Light the Night Campaign
This holiday season, a new giving opportunity is available to members of the ESU community and the community at large. The Emporia State University Student Foundation has organized the Light the Night Campaign in an effort to raise money for student scholarships and for those in need in the area.
The campaign kicked off at ESU's Annual Star Lighting Ceremony with the lighting of four trees in front of Plumb Hall. The trees are covered with approximately 400 colored lights. For every five dollars that is donated, one of the colored lights will be changed to a white light. The Student Foundation has set a goal of $2000.00 to be reached by December 15, 2006.
The money raised from the Light the Night Campaign will be split evenly between two recipients. Half of the money will go to the ESU Advancement Office to be used towards student scholarships. The other half will go to the local United Way Campaign. The Student Foundation would like to give back to the incredibly supportive Emporia community through this fundraiser.
To make a donation to the Light the Night Campaign and help change the lights on the trees, please make checks payable to the ESU Foundation, 1500 Highland, Emporia KS, 66801. Any questions about the campaign should be addressed to Angela Blaufuss, Executive Chair of the Student Foundation, at (620) 341-5481.
