ESU students recognized at School of Business Honors Banquet 
School of Business Honor Students
Fifty senior honor students were recognized at the annual School of Business Honors Banquet held recently in the Memorial Union ballroom. To receive the designated "Honor" by the School of Business a student must have earned a 3.5 or better cumulated grade-point average.
Jennifer Remmereid, President of Pi Omega Pi, served as Toastmistress of the dinner. Dr. John Schwenn, Vice President for Academic Affairs, welcomed the attendees, followed by greetings from Dr. Robert Hite, Dean of the School of Business.
Brett Henry, a Capitol Federal Scholar, introduced invited guests and Brett Bruner, President of Phi Beta Lambda introduced, Calvin T. Roberts, the keynote speaker.
Roberts graduated from Emporia State University with his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
In 1980, Roberts became President of National Capital Corporation where he launched the new company to form broker mortgages, equities and joint ventures. He moved back to Kansas in 1981 to work for Jones & Company Real Estate and Mortgages. His first position at the company was Senior Vice President of the Real Estate Investment and Finance Department; he later became the Chief Executive Officer, President, and Chairman.
He moved to Columbian Trust Company in 1982 where he became the Senior Vice President of the Commercial Real Estate Mortgage Banking Department. In 1991, he formed Cal Roberts & Associates, Inc., with a mission to provide commercial real estate financing, brokerage, consulting, and secure financing for start-up companies. Roberts sat on the Kansas Board of Tax Appeals as one of five members judging tax cases. He is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer for Brotherhood Bank & Trust.

CAPITOL FEDERAL SCHOLARS
The Capitol Federal Scholars were recognized. The Capitol Federal Savings scholarship program recognizes students in the ESU School of Business who have graduated from a Kansas high school and have a minimum 3.25 grade point average. This scholarship is renewable and is awarded in addition to other university scholarships. The annual awards range from $1,000 for freshmen to $2,000 for graduate students. Those students include:
