New members inducted into Lambda Pi Eta

The Xi Sigma chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Honor Society, held its 4th annual induction ceremony on March 29, 2006 at the Sauder Alumni Center.
The society inducted 7 new members; Miranda (Mandy) Davis, Emporia; Lacey Hall, Emporia; Kayla Oney, Alma; Dustin Rimmey, Leavenworth; Christy Schneider, Olathe; Amanda (Mandy) Smith, Burlingame; and Rachel Waddell, Lane. Lambda Pi Eta also inducted two honorary members; Dr. Myrna Cornett-DeVito and Professor Virginia Higgins.
The ceremony was conducted by LPH officers. Vice-President of Academic Affairs, Dr. John Schwenn provided welcoming remarks with Dr. Steve Catt, chair, Department of Communication and Theatre bestowing certificates and pins.
In order to be eligible for membership of Lambda Pi Eta, students must be enrolled full-time and have completed 60 credit hours in undergraduate credit course. Members must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and have at least completed 12 credit hours in communication course with a minimum GPA of 3.25; and be in the top 35% of their graduating class.
The chapter officers are Kala Glass, President; Christy Schneider, Vice-President; Mandy Smith, Secretary; Andrea Foltz, Treasurer; and Chad Woolard, Scholarship Chair.
Faculty advisors are Dr. Myrna Cornett-DeVito and Prof. Kenna Reeves.
