ESU Newman Division of Nursing to honor seniors, award recipients

Emporia State University’s Newman Division of Nursing will honor its graduating students and announce leadership award recipients during its annual Student Nurse Recognition Ceremony.  Additionally, sophomore and junior nursing students will be recognized and the recipients of scholarship awards will be announced.

The ceremony is scheduled to begin 7 p.m. may 12 in Albert Taylor Hall in Plumb Hall. 

This event is open to the public.  A reception will follow at the ESU Newman Division of Nursing, 1127 Chestnut Street.

Dr. Joseph E. Bosiljevac, Jr., MD, FACS, a vascular surgeon of Emporia, Kansas will be the keynote speaker.  The ceremony will include seniors receiving their nursing pins from family or friends, leadership awards being presented to seniors, seniors receiving gifts from the Newman Hospital Medical Staff, junior nursing students receiving the black ribbons for their nursing caps, and sophomore nursing students receiving their nursing caps.  Additionally scholarship recipients for the 2006-2007 academic year will be announced.
