National Teachers Hall of Fame announces Dr. Leo Pauls as President

The National Teachers Hall of Fame (NTHF) announced that Dr. Leo Pauls will assume the duties as president, effective July 1.
"It is an honor to be selected to serve as president of the National Teachers Hall of Fame. In this position, I plan to advance the cause, principles and vision of the National Teachers Hall of Fame," Pauls said.
Pauls said he will focus on NTHF activities in Washington , D.C. and raise more national visibility for the Hall of Fame.
"I will continue to heighten visibility, visit with congress, national officers and organizations in Washington ," he said. "My goal is to continue the ground work that has already been laid by this organization."
Pauls is no stranger to education. Over the past 34 years, he has held several positions at Emporia State University . Pauls has served as executive director of The Renaissance Group, director of reading programs, associate chair of teacher education, and executive director for the Jones Institute for Educational Excellence.
"Dr. Pauls brings valuable experience and expertise to this important position," said ESU President Kay Schallenkamp. "I am pleased that Dr. Pauls will continue to promote education and inspire others to support the teaching profession through The National Teachers Hall of Fame."
The Hall of Fame is committed to drawing the public's attention to exceptional teachers through a museum, teacher resource center, educational programming, and recognition program which honors five of the nation's most outstanding PreK-12 educators each year.
