UAC takes top honors
Outstanding student leader, outstanding advisor, and outstanding publicity campaign, add in members, programming activities, and mix it all together and end up with one outstanding organization.
Union Activities Council (UAC) the organization at Emporia State that is responsible for programming fun activities for students, is that outstanding organization. UAC earned this recognition at the Regional Conference in Tulsa, Okla. November 10-13.
Chelsea Redger, a senior from Newton was awarded the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) Central Outstanding Student Leader award.
This award was awarded to the student who showed outstanding service to a programming organization on their campus, who provided innovative or creative efforts with their institution, has been active in a NACA unit, and has been actively involved in other campus and or community organizations. Only one award is presented each year.
Redger is currently the president of UAC as well as a leader in numerous campus organizations.
UAC also picked up another award at the conference for recognition in the graphic arts division.
Jenika Dykmann, a junior from Lenexa, won first place in publicity campaign and second place in newspaper ad in the NACA Central Region Graphics Competition in the large school category.
The graphics competition recognizes techniques and ideas used to create outstanding promotional materials from a variety of campus activities.
Blythe Eddy, associate director of the Memorial Union, won the award of Outstanding Advisor of the Region for the National Association of Campus Activities (NACA). Blythe serves as the advisor for UAC.
This honor is awarded to an outstanding advisor for activities or programming boards in the central region which includes members primarily from Colorado, New Mexico, Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana.
