ESU to showcase student work during fine arts celebration
Emporia State University is hosting its second annual Celebration of ESU Fine Arts, May 1, 2005 .
"This event celebrates and showcases the quality work of ESU students and our outstanding fine arts programs," said Dr. Marie Miller, professor and chair of the Music Department. "We prepare our graduates for both the profession and advanced studies, through our state-of-the-art academic programs and experiential opportunities."
This year's event will include a silent auction. Proceeds will benefit the Fine Arts area.
"The public is invited to savor brief experiences of music, creative writing, and art," Miller said.
Events for the Celebration of ESU Fine Arts include:
Brunch and Entertainment
11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Memorial Union Ballroom
Entertainment provided by the ESU Marimba Ensemble
Student Art Show
12:30 - 1:15 p.m. - King Hall
Dedication of the Ronald Q. Frederickson Theatre and Inez P. Friesen Studio
1: 15 - 1:45 p.m. - Roosevelt Hall
Celebration of Music or Theatre
2:00 p.m. - your choice of attending
the ESU A Cappella Choir with quest artist Mic McGuire - Plumb Hall's Albert Taylor Hall
the ESU Theatre production of The Importance of Being Earnest , Bruder Theatre
The cost of the brunch/entertainment portion is $20.00 per person. The cost of the music performance is $5.00 per person; the cost of the theatre production is $8.00 per person. Please RSVP by April 15, 2005 . Tickets for the 2:00 performance of your choice will be available at the celebration. All events are held on the ESU campus.
