Phillips Named National White Rose Queen
Sarah Phillips, a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority, recently won the national title of "Rose of Sigma Tau". She was one of three finalists chosen to attend Sigma Tau Gamma's 2004 Grand Chapter conference in Kansas City . She received the title on Saturday, August 7, 2004 .
The Grand chapter conference attendees select the woman whom they think best represents Sigma Tau Gamma's principles, which are value, learning, leadership, excellence, benefit, and integrity.
"Attending the National Grand Chapter of Sigma Tau Gamma gave me a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet new individuals, professionals, and alumni. I feel honored to be the local White Rose Queen of Sigma Tau Gamma," said Phillips, a senior Communications major from Edgerton. "However, winning the national sweetheart is truly an amazing feeling. I look forward to working with their national headquarters in the year to come. Sigma Tau Gamma is a wonderful fraternal organization and I am quite proud to be their National White Rose Queen."
Before winning the national title of White Rose Queen, she was named chapter sweetheart by the Delta chapter of Sigma Tau Gamma at Emporia State . She received the title of sweetheart at their annual White Rose banquet and dance, held earlier this year. As the sweetheart, her purpose was to serve as the chapter's official hostess.
