Pre-Business Workshop offered
The ESU Small Business Development Center will offer a two-day workshop
June 22 and 24 which will assist people in what to do before they start
a business.
Part I on the 22nd will cover How to Produce a Business Plan, which
includes an introduct6ion to the critical components of a business
plan as well as a discussion of what bankers/investors look for in
a business plan, and The Marketing Plan, which includes quick and inexpensive
ways to research your market.
Part II on the 24th will cover Understanding Financial Statements,
which includes an introduction to commonly used statements such as
the Income Statement, the Balance sheet, and the Cash Flow Statement.
How to Acquire Capital, which includes information on both dept and
equity financing, will also be covered.
The Pre-Business Workshop will be presented by Dr. Jim Stephens, Gayle
Meierhoff, Mike Dean, Ken Schallenkamp and Lisa Brumbaugh.
The workshop will be held June 22 and 24 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. each
night in the National Teachers Hall of Fame building in the Glennen
Board Room 112 at 1320 C of E Drive in Emporia, KS.
The registration fee is $15 for one night and $25 for both nights.
Participants must register by June 17.
