ESU Foundation announces new trustees
Seven new members have been elected to three-year terms on the Emporia State University Foundation Board of Trustees. The new trustees will serve the Foundation through October 2007.
The Foundation Board of Trustees is the governing body of the Emporia State University Foundation, Inc., which is responsible for raising the funds needed for scholarships, building renovations, professorships, and numerous other projects in support of Emporia State University 's mission in teaching, research and public service.
The newly elected board members are:
Raymond Blackwell, Naperville , Ill. Blackwell received his bachelor's degree from ESU in 1967. He is the regional director for the Central Region of Boy Scouts of America. Blackwell has been honored a 2004 ESU Distinguished Alumnus.
Bill Freeman, LeRoy , Kan. Freeman received his bachelor's degree from ESU in 1953. He is the vice president of the First National Bank of LeRoy and the mayor of LeRoy. He is a past member of the ESU Alumni Association Board of Directors.
Rich Jiwanlal, Wichita , Kan. Jiwanlal received his master's in business administration from ESU in 1983. He is a senior vice president of human resources for Bank of America. Jiwanlal also serves on the boards of directors for the Urban League of the MidPlains, Via Christi Riverside Medical Center and Wichita State 's Shocker Athletic Scholarship Organization.
John W. Jones, Salina , Kan. Jones received his bachelor's and master's degrees from ESU in 1970 and 1971, respectively. Jones is a certified financial planner and president of John Jones and Associates, Inc. He lends his leadership to the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce, Trinity Methodist Church and the Salina Kansas AMBUCS Breakfast Bandits. He is a past president of both the ESU Alumni Association Board of Directors and ESU's Smoky Valley Alumni Chapter.
Rosemary Kirby, Wichita , Kan. Kirby received her bachelor's degree from ESU in 1952. She is the retired president of the Wichita Area Technical College , and served the Wichita Public Schools for 31 years. Today she tutors fifth- through eleventh-graders from the Wichita area.
Carl Ricketts, Lawrence , Kan. Rickets received his bachelor's degree and master's in business administration from ESU in 1980 and 1981, respectively. He is the vice president of business services at Missouri Gas Energy in Kansas City , Mo. Rickets serves on the boards of USbank, Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence, and Elsie H. Randolph Foundation. He is a past member of the ESU Alumni Association Board of Directors and currently serves on the ESU Business School Advisory Board.
Randy Steinert, Wichita , Kan. Steinert received his bachelor's degree from ESU in 1979. He is the senior vice president, auditor for Emprise Financial Corp. Steinert also serves on the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sedgwick County Board of Directors and the Institute of Internal Auditors Board of Governors. He is the current president of ESU's South Central Kansas Alumni Chapter and is a past president of the Alumni Association Board of Directors.
