The program will also include performances by ESU's gospel choir, Harmonious Voices of Praise and a song and dance performance by students from the Project Quest program.
Other events include a poster contest at Emporia High School , where freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are eligible to create a poster illustrating a timeline of Dr. King's life. Five winners will be invited to the program and their artwork will be displayed at the banquet.
The ESU Memorial Union Bookstore is giving a $250 textbook scholarship to a senior at Emporia High School who will be attending ESU. Interested students will have to write an essay using a quote from Dr. King that illustrates how they will continue his legacy.
