ESU accepting registrations for rehabilitation conference
ESU’s student chapter of the Kansas Rehabilitation Association will host the KRA’s annual training conference Nov. 7.
This public symposium titled “New Initiatives in Rehabilitation and Employment for Individuals with Disabilities” will address future visions in rehabilitation as presented by the following experts:
Dale Barnum, Director of Kansas Rehabilitation Services.
Dr. Sheryl Ranson, President of Kansas Rehabilitation Association.
Vicki Brooke, Virginia Commonwealth University Director of Research and Training Center on workplace supports funded by the National Institute on Disability and project director for the Social Security Administration’s regional technical assistance center on Benefits, Planning Assistance and Outreach.
Dr. Bruce Kater, Clinical Director, Vision Rehabilitation Center at Envision.
Jaryl Perkins, Chief, KRA in Emporia.
Topics will include: “Customer Driven Vocational Rehabilitation – Who is the Customer?” and “Vision Rehabilitation – The New Model.”
A luncheon and award presentations, will feature legislative and policy updates by Martha Gabehart, Executive Director for the Kansas Commission on Disability Concerns.
The conference will be held Friday, Nov. 7 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. A pre-conference reception at Candlewood Suites takes place from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6.
Registration is $20 for students, $40 for KRA members, $60 for guests and friends, and $100 per vendor table, which includes two people.
Registration includes invitations to the pre-conference reception, continental breakfast, luncheon, refreshments, awards presentation, and parking pass. Continuing Education credits are also available.
