Kansas Public Radio on location at ESU March 7 and 8
Kansas Public Radio hits the road March 7 and 8 when it broadcasts
ESU music students and faculty will be the focus of a special three-hour radio program on Kansas Public Radio March 7.
Classical music host Rachel Hunter will broadcast live from ESU's Heath Recital Hall, with her informal mix of performance and interview with student and faculty performers. According to Hunter, the public is invited to stop by and watch the mechanics of live radio.
"We will be broadcasting the whole time, so we'll have to play recorded music when performers are getting on and off stage," she said. "I will also have to do the usual underwriting announcements and weather, but this is definitely a spotlight on Emporia musicians."
Hunter has featured live music on her show before, but only from Kansas Public Radio studios in Lawrence. "This one will be a little more complex. It will have to be timed out and well-planned," she said.
Right Between the Ears has been broadcast on more than 125 public radio stations nationwide, including stations in San Francisco, Seattle, New Orleans, Cincinnati, Boston, San Diego, Cleveland and Minneapolis-St. Paul, plus statewide networks in West Virginia, South Dakota, Vermont and Nebraska.
