ROUNDTABLE

The following is a summary of faculty and staff accomplishment reported to ESU Public Affairs and Marketing in April 2003:

AWARDS

Dr. David Edds, professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, is the recipient of the President's Award for Research and Creativity. Since coming to ESU, Dr. Edds has received approximately $450,000 in internal and external grants.

PUBLICATIONS

Dr. David Kaplan, chairman in the Department of Counselor Education and Rehabilitation Programs, has co-authored the book "Family Counseling for All Counselors," co-published by ERIC/CASS and the American Counseling Association. The book includes chapters by

Dr. Dennis Pelsma and Dr. Fran Steigerwald, associate professor and former assistant professor, respectively, in the Department of Counselor Education and Rehabilitation Programs.

Dr. David Saunders, associate professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, Dr. Ronald Keith, associate professor in the Department of Physical Sciences, Dr. Elizabeth Yanik, professor in the Department of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Economics, and Phillip Gustafson, former ESU professor of Mathematics, published "The Value of Interdisciplinary Research in Undergraduate Education" in the Journal of College Science Teaching, XXXII(6): 377-381.

Dr. Kalyan Chakraborty, assistant professor in the Department of Accounting and Computer Information Systems, published "Measuring Productive Efficiency and Cost of Public Education" in Southwestern Economic Review, Vol. 30 - No. 1, Spring 2003, pp. 23 -34.
