University closed during holidaysDecember 19, 2013
When the clock hits 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, Emporia State University offices will close for the holidays. The campus will re-open at 8 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014. During the break, offices and buildings will be closed to the public.
Residence halls open at noon Sunday, Jan. 19. Classes for the spring semester begin Wednesday, Jan. 22.
Between the time campus re-opens and Jan. 20, food-service establishments operated by Sodexo have varied hours.
On Jan. 2 and 3 only Buzzcotti will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with hot breakfast available from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Beginning Jan. 6, Buzzcotti will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with hot breakfast available from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., and Hornet Express will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Skyline Dining will re-open for the spring on Jan. 13. Hours are 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
On the Martin Luther King Jr., holiday, Monday, Jan. 19, Hornets Nest — residential student dining — will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for brunch and from 4:30 to 6 p.m. for dinner. All other food service will be closed.
On Tuesday, Jan. 20, all Sodexo outlets will be open with spring semester hours:
- Hornets Nest — 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.; 4 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday
- Simply To Go — 2 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday
- Buzzcotti — 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday
- Hornet Express — 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday
- Skyline Dining — 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Monday through Friday
