Inwood to engage KC-area ESU alumniSeptember 14, 2011
Efforts to strengthen connections between Emporia State University and the largest metropolitan concentration of ESU alumni in the country will take on new focus with the recent appointment of Nancy Inwood of Olathe as Kansas City-area coordinator for the ESU Alumni Association.
Inwood earned her bachelor’s degree in communication from ESU in 2000. She joins the Alumni Association after a ten year career with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, where she most recently served as regional coordinator for Kansas and Missouri and was responsible for a $4 million fundraising budget to provide services to persons with neuromuscular diseases.
“I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to work with ESU alumni in the Kansas City metro area,” said Inwood.” It is exciting to be able to work directly with so many great alums and share my talents and skills with Emporia State.”
“With over 9,000 alumni in the Kansas City metro area, we need a professional staff presence to reach that audience,” said Tyler Curtis, director of alumni relations.
ESU’s Kansas City-area alumni group annually stages a series of successful events, including a spring golf tournament and the upcoming Oct. 6 Boulevard Brewery social event. “Nancy will work with our alumni volunteers to enhance those activities,” Curtis said.
