HPER online program helps active-duty military

Charlotte Miller, a graduate student in Health, Physical Education and Recreation is living life on the sea. She has been in the Navy for the past 21 years. She is an AWFC, which is translated to Naval Air crewman Mechanic Chief E-7. When she is not “flying dignitaries where they want to go around the world,” she is helping to keep the sailors in her command in good shape by also doubling as a Command Fitness Leader. In three years, she will have to retire and is pursuing a graduate degree to prepare for her next goal, which is to teach or serve as an athletic director at a community college.

 “The Graduate Program at ESU has been a great experience, the HPER online program has allowed me to pursue my graduate degree while continuing to serve my country,” she said.

Miller is currently living in Crofton, Md., but her hometown is Mansfield, Ohio.
