Register now for Second Annual Nitty Gritty Tie-Dye Run

August 18, 2014

Don’t miss out on the Second Annual Nitty Gritty Tie-Dye Run at Emporia State University. Registration closes at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29.

The event, sponsored by five Emporia State organizations, raises money for Children’s Champion Network, which supports Emporia community groups that work with children.

The 5K, untimed event takes off from Plumb Hall on the Emporia State campus on Saturday, Sept. 6 with registration and check-in beginning at 9:30 a.m. and the first wave of participants taking off at 10 a.m.

During the run, participants are doused from head to toe in different colors as they pass each kilometer mark. At the finish line, a gigantic “Color Festival,” ensures that all participants are coated in color from head to toe. The entry fee is $25 for adult and $15 for children age 12 and younger. Each participant who registers by Aug. 29 receives a T-shirt that will be tie-dyed by the end of the event.

For more information about the dash, see http://www.emporia.edu/recsport/events/tie-dye.html.

The Nitty Gritty Tie-Dye Run is organized by Emporia State Recreation Services, Associated Student Government, Union Activities Council, Community Hornets and Emporia State University.
