Summer hours begin Monday at Emporia StateMay 11, 2011
The Emporia State campus will move to summer hours on Monday, May 16, 2011. For 12 weeks ending Aug. 6, most campus buildings and departments will be open from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. They will be closed Fridays.
The campus will still observe the holidays of Memorial Day (May 30) and Fourth of July. On those weeks, campus will be open three days rather than four.
In addition, certain departments will have different hours during the 12-week period:
The Admissions office in Plumb Hall will be open from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on these Fridays —May 20, June 3 and June 10. Admissions will be open from 7 a.m. to noon on Fridays — June 17, June 24, July 8, July 15, July 22, July 29 and Aug. 5.
- William Allen White Library will be open from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The library is closed Friday and Saturday during the summer.
The Memorial Union Bookstore will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Hornet Express will be open from 6:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Skyline Dining Room will be closed May 16 through 30. When it reopens May 31, it will be open 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Residential dining hall will be open Monday through Thursday for breakfast from 7:15 to 7:45 a.m., lunch from noon to 1 p.m. and dinner from 5 to 6 p.m. It will be open Fridays on an as-needed basis and closed on weekends.
The Student Recreation Center will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The swimming pool in the HPER building will be open from noon until 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Because the rec center is supported by student fees, all students may use the services for no charge during the semesters in which they are enrolled. If not enrolled in classes this summer, students can pay a monthly membership fee of $11.42. In addition, ESU faculty and staff may purchase memberships for $11.42 per month.
ESU alumni also qualify for membership at the rec center for $17.79 per month. For information, contact the rec center at (620) 341-5952.
