Finalists for provost position set to visit campus

Four finalists for the position of provost and vice president for academic affairs will visit Emporia State University during the first two weeks of April. Each candidate’s visit will include individual meetings with the search committee, members of the Emporia State University administration as well as several open forums with various constituencies, including faculty, staff, students and the Emporia community.

Dr. Warren G. Sandmann, associate provost and associate vice president for academic affairs, Minnesota State University, Mankato, will visit April 1-3. He will be at a reception with the Emporia community at 5 p.m., Monday, April 1, at the Emporia Arts Council, 815 Commercial St. On Tuesday, April 2, Sandmann will meet with faculty at 3 p.m., campus and community at 4 p.m. and be at a public reception at 5 p.m., all in Webb Hall of the Memorial Union.

Dr. David P. Cordle, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and professor of music at University of North Carolina Wilmington, will visit April 3-5. He will be at a reception with the Emporia community at 5 p.m., Wednesday, April 3, at the Emporia Arts Council, 815 Commercial St. On Thursday, April 4, Cordle will meet with faculty at 3 p.m., campus and community at 4 p.m. and be at a public reception at 5 p.m., all in the KSTC Ballroom of the Memorial Union.

Dr. Bonnie D. Irwin, dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, Eastern Illinois University; will visit April 8-10. She will be at a reception with the Emporia community at 5 p.m., Monday, April 8, at the Emporia Arts Council, 815 Commercial St. On Tuesday, April 9, Irwin will meet with faculty at 3 p.m., campus and community at 4 p.m. and be at a public reception at 5 p.m., all in the KSTC Ballroom of the Memorial Union.

Dr. Gersham A. Nelson, dean of the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at University of Central Missouri; will visit April 10-12. He will be at a reception with the Emporia community at 5 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, at the Emporia Arts Council, 815 Commercial St. On Thursday, April 11, Nelson will meet with faculty at 3 p.m., campus and community at 4 p.m. and be at a public reception at 5 p.m., all in the Skyline Room of the Memorial Union.
