Emporia State’s marketing efforts earn awards
January 16, 2012Emporia State University’s Marketing and Media Relations department picked up two awards at the District VI annual meeting of CASE, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
The Empowered by E newsletter written for families of ESU students, earned a silver award in Excellence in Communications — Periodicals: External Audience Tabloid/Newsletter. The monthly publication, edited by department assistant director Gwendolynne Larson, is a component of the Family Hornet Organization outreach effort.
“Photos from Above,” an article written by director Bill Noblitt for the Quest research magazine, tells of study done by Physical Science Professor James Aber and his wife, Susan, a lecturer in the physical science department. The article earned a bronze award in the category of Excellence in Writing: Science/Technology/Research Article or Feature.
The awards were presented during the district meeting Jan. 9 in Denver, Colo.
CASE is a professional association serving educational institutions and the advancement professionals who work on their behalf in alumni relations, communications, development, marketing and allied areas.
