Nursing Curriculum / Course Descriptions
- The Bachelor of Science (BSN) degree requires 128 total credit hours: 58 credit hours in the nursing major and 70 non-nursing credit hours.
- The complete list of non-nursing course requirements and prerequisites to admission are found in the Newman Division of Nursing Admission Guidelines.
- Students must be admitted to the nursing major (or acquire special permission) to enroll in nursing courses.
- Nursing course descriptions may be viewed in the current ESU undergraduate catalog.

SAMPLE CURRICULUM PLAN

Nursing theory courses: 1 credit hour = 1 contact hour
Nursing lab courses: 1 credit hour = 2 contact hours
Nursing practicum courses: 1 credit hour = 4 contact hours
