Terry Everson, an internationally renowned trumpet soloist, is active as a performer, educator, composer/arranger and church musician.  He appears frequently as a recitalist and clinician and as a soloist with orchestras, wind ensembles, and brass bands.  Terry’s  performances includes appearances with the Boston Symphony and Pops Orchestras, Philadelphia Orchestra, Boston Ballet,  Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Chestnut Brass Company, Philadelphia Natural Trumpet Ensemble, Lexington Philharmonic, Lexington Brass Band, Kentuckiana Brass and Percussion Ensemble, and Kentucky Jazz Repertory Orchestra.   He has also performed with Ray Charles and Manhattan Transfer.

Mr. Everson currently serves as Assistant Professor of Trumpet at Boston University and on the faculty of Tanglewood Institute.  He is currently Principal Trumpet of the Peninsula Music Festival, Door County, Wisconsin and Principal Solo Cornet and Assistant Conductor of the New England Brass Band.  He has served on the faculties of Asbury College, the University of Kentucky, and Philadelphia College of Bible.  Terry earned bachelor and master of music degrees in trumpet performance from the Ohio State University.

Mr. Everson garnered international recognition in 1988, winning both the Baroque/Classical and 20th Century categories of the inaugural Ellsworth Smith International Trumpet Competition.   In 1990, he was awarded First Prize Laureate in the Louise D. McMahon International Music Competition.   He has premiered major compositions by John Davidson, Stanley Friedman, Jan Krzywicki, Elena Roussanova-Lucas, and ESU’s Gary Ziek.  His collaboration with pianist Susan Nowicki has produced two recordings of notable modern compositions.   He has also recorded as soloist with the New England Brass Band, the Lexington Brass Band, and the Eastern Wind Symphony.

As a composer, Mr. Everson has filled several commissions.  His works are published by TREverson Music and have been recorded.  Terry currently holds the position of Worship Pastor at MetroWest Christian Life Center in Marlborough, Maryland where he and his wife, Lori, are also members of the Pastoral Care staff.
