Dr. Marie Miller

    Marie C. Miller, pianist, is an active performer, educator, and researcher. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Music Education from Florida State University , a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from Northwestern University, a Bachelor of Music degree and Kodály Certification from Silver Lake College. An elementary music education specialist, Dr. Miller held teaching elementary music teaching positions in Antigo and Green Bay, Wisconsin, as well as university positions at Silver Lake College, Southeast Missouri State University and currently as Professor of Music Education at Emporia State University.

    An active soloist and chamber musician, Miller concertizes performs regularly with faculty colleagues and guest artists. Dr. Miller is also active as a researcher with publications and presentation in the field of music education.  She is a member of the Board of Directors for the National Association of Schools of Music and is active an an accreditation visitor for that organization.  Miller served as Chair of the Music Department for 14 years.
