Monday, 5/26

1.00 pm Group A check in at the Kansas City International Airport for American Airlines flight #1627 to Chicago O'Hare
3.00 pm Group B check in at the Kansas City International Airport for American Airlines flight #850 to Chicago O'Hare
3.06 pm Group A departs Kansas City
4.23 pm Group A arrives Chicago O'Hare/transfer to American Airlines flight #52 (departing at 7.30 pm)
5.01 pm Group B departs Kansas City
6.23 pm Group B arrives Chicago O'Hare/transfer to American Airlines flight #52 (departing at 7.30 pm)
7.30 pm All depart Chicago O’Hare for Glasgow, UK

 

Tuesday, 5/27

8.45 am Arrive Glasgow Airport, clear Immigration and Customs. Meet your tour escort. Mr. Michael “Mick” Bracy, holding a sign saying "Barham Group" as you enter the Arrivals Hall. Change money, load your 77-seat double deck coach and meet your driver from Heyfordian Travel (Mick will be at the Holiday Inn Airport, Abbotsinch, Paisley. Renfrewshire. Scotland the previous night - that is Glasgow.)
10.15 am Depart the airport and tour through Glasgow on the coach, stopping at St. Kentigern Cathedral if time allows.
11.45 am Depart Glasgow en route to Edinburgh
12.45 pm Arrive Edinburgh, drive directly to Edinburgh Castle and enter the Castle (Mick, use the Voucher) Lunch on your own in the Castle Refectory.
2.45 pm Meet Mick at a predetermined meeting point outside the Castle and stroll down the Royal Mile and enter the John Knox House. (Mick, use the voucher)
3.30 pm Re-group with Mick outside the John Knox House and walk around the corner to your hotel and waiting coach. Check in to the Travelodge Edinburgh Central, 33 St. Mary's Street (0870 191 1637) Leisure time until dinner (try to resist the very great temptation to sleep, go for a walk instead. otherwise it will be difficult to acclimate to the time change!)
6.30 pm Meet at the Travelodge Bar Cafe for your "Welcome to Scotland” dinner

 

Wednesday, 5/28

8.30 am Breakfast at the Travelodge Edinburgh Central
10.00 am Meet Mick in the hotel lobby and walk with him the short distance to St. Giles' Cathedral
10.30 am Meet Michael Harris, the Choirmaster at St. Giles', and enjoy a workshop with him. (1 hour)
11.45 am Assemble in the North Transept of St. Giles' and prepare for your concert
12.15 pm Present you concert in St. Giles' Cathedral
1.00 pm Enjoy a Tour of St. Giles Cathedral
2.00 pm Lunch on your own in the area, and then the rest of the afternoon is free

 

Thursday, 5/29

8.00 am Breakfast at the Travelodge Edinburgh Centeral
9:00 am Check out, load and board the coach for the drive to York.  Stop for lunch along the motorway en route.
3:30 pm Arrive York and check in to the Express by Holiday Inn York/East. Malton Road (ph. 01904 438660)
4.15 pm Re-board your coach and drive into the center of York to York Minster Cathedral
4.45 pm Enter the Cathedral Quire and take a seat for Evensong
5.00 pm Evensong at York Minster Cathedral
6.00 pm Board your coach and return to the Express by 1 Holiday Inn, Dinner at your leisure and then the evening is free

 

Friday, 5/30

8.00 am Breakfast at the Express by Holiday Inn
9.00 am Board your coach for the short drive into central York and to York Minster Cathedral
9.30 am Enjoy a tour of York Minster Cathedral.
12.00 pm Have lunch at your leisure and an afternoon free
4.00 pm Meet at All Saints' Pavement Parish Church for a short rehearsal (Your host, Martin Motion, Organist/Choirmaster at All Saints, is a past BEST Tour Escort himself!)
5.00 pm Break for dinner on your own.
7.00 pm Meet at All Saints' Pavement
7.30 pm Present your concert at All Saints' Pavement Parish Church
9.00 pm Board your coach and ride back to the Express by Holiday Inn

 

Saturday 5/31

7.00 am Breakfast at the Express by Holiday Inn
8.00 am Check out, load and board the coach for the drive to London
12.00 pm Arrive London and begin a 'Round London Coach Tour' with your Tour Escort, Mick, as your guide! If there is time and interest you might stop at the half-price ticket booth in Leicester Square.
1.30 pm End the 'Round London Coach Tour’ in the Westminster Abbey area and have lunch on your own
2.40 pm BE ON TIME! Regroup in front of Westminster Abbey, then enter the Abbey, make yourselves known to a Verger and take your reserved seats for the Evensong Service (Mick, they may have the reserved seats under Emporia State or Barham)
3.00 pm Evensong, sung by the Westminster Abbey Choir of Men and Boys
3.45 pm Evensong ends
3.55 pm Convene in or near the Song School (off the Main Cloister)
4.00 pm Workshop with James O'Donnell in the Song School
5.20 pm Re-board your waiting coach and drive the short distance to the Travel Inn Euston, 1 Dukes Road (08702 383 301). Check in and then the evening is free.

 

Sunday, 6/1

  Breakfast at the Travel Inn Euston
  The day is totally free for you to explore this wonderful city or the nearby environs. The "Tube" is easy to use and goes just about everywhere. The British Museum, National Gallery, London Eye, cruise on the Thames, take a coach tour to Bath & Stonehenge, take a train to Oxford or Cambridge ... there are too many possibilities to list. If you need an idea or help with an arrangement, Mick can help. ENJOY!

 

Monday, 6/2

  Breakfast at the Travel Inn Euston
10.30 am Board your coach and ride to St. Paul's Covent Garden. Due to coach access you may have to walk the final few blocks
11.00 am Have a short rehearsal in preparation for your concert
11.30 am Lunch on your own in the Covent Garden area
12.30 pm Meet back at St. Paul's Covent Garden and prepare for your concert
1.00 pm Present your concert at St. Paul's Covent Garden
2.15 pm Board your coach and ride the short distance to the Tower of London
2.30 pm Arrive at the Tower of London. Follow Mick around to the Group Ticket Office where he will collect and distribute the tickets. Mick will show you to the special group entrance. Stroll through on your own or grab on to a Beefeater tour in small numbers. Afterwards you are free to shop or sightsee in the area.
5.00 pm Meet your coach at the Tower of London and return to the hotel. The evening is free. (Mick, if the group wants to return to the hotel earlier or decides to disperse at the Tower instead of returning to the hotel, you may arrange this with the driver and Dr. Barham)

 

Tuesday, 6/3

8.00 am Breakfast at Travel Inn Euston
9.00 am Check out, load the coach, board and enjoy the ride to Paris, including the English Channel crossing by ferry from Dover to Calais. You will have to clear immigration and customs before the crossing. You can enjoy lunch onboard the ferry.
4.30 pm Arrive at Paris and go directly to your hotel, the Mercure Tour Eiffel Suffren, 20 rue Jean Rey (01 45 78 53 42)
8.00 pm "Welcome to Paris" dinner at the Mercure Tour Eiffel hotel

 

Wednesday, 6/4

7.30 am Breakfast at the Mercure Tour Eiffel
9.00 am Meet your local tour guide from ATH Tourservice, board your coach and enjoy a morning tour of Paris
12.00 pm Arrive at the Louvre Museum, enter the Museum with the guide and tour
  After the Louvre tour you are free for the day. We suggest a stroll down the Rue de Rivoli and along the Champs Elysees. There are many things to see and do, if you need suggestions ask Mick or at the hotel.

 

Thursday, 6/5

8.00 am Breakfast at the Mercure Tour Eiffel
10.00 am Board your coach for the ride to the Ile de la Cité and Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris
10.30 am Meet Ivan Musnier at the metallic gate of the presbytery, outside and to the right of the Main Entrance to Notre-Dame.
11.00 am Present your concert at Notre-Dame de Paris (30 minutes)
  The afternoon is free. Dinner at your leisure.
8.00 pm Board your coach at the Mercure Tour Eiffel hotel for the short ride to Pont D'Alma
8.40 pm Bateau Mouches cruise down the Seine
9.40 pm End of the cruise, re-board your coach and return to the Mercure Tour Eiffel hotel

 

Friday, 6/6

8.30 am Breakfast at the Mercure Tour Eiffel
10.30 am Check out and load the coach, then board the coach for the ride to the Charles De Gaulle Airport and your flight home
11.30 am Arrive Charles De Gaulle Airport, check in for American Airlines flight #41 to Chicago O'Hare
2.45 pm Depart CD Airport
4.55 pm Arrive Chicago O'Hare (local time) and after clearing Immigration and Customs, transfer to the appropriate flight
6.41 pm Depart on American Airlines flight #847 for Kansas City
8.10 pm Arrive Kansas City
