The Bonner and Bonner Mathematics Scholarship is available to Emporia State University students who are Mathematics majors; Mathematics education majors; Secondary education majors with a specialization in mathematics; and Elementary education majors with a specialization in mathematics. The scholarship recipients should be interested in the promotion of harmony and understanding among the various diverse cultures which exist in the City of Emporia, the state of Kansas, and in the United States as exemplified in the lives of Dr. Thomas E. Bonner and Dr. Mary W. Bonner. Other criteria apply. The Multicultural Affairs Scholarship

The Multicultural Affairs office is now accpting nominations and applications for the Black Student Union Scholarship ($603.00) and Charles Colbert & Toy Caldwell- Colbert scholarship ($857.00).  Scholarships are for African American students who are demostrating outstanding academic and leadership achievements.  Awards will be for spring 2008.  Please submit nominations to: Dr. Barbara Baker, Ed.D., Director of Multicultural Affairs, Memorial Union 1st Floor, Emporia State University Emporia, KS 66801

 

American Association of University Women

The Alumnae Panhellenic Association of Greater Kansas City is offering educational grants and interest free loans to female college senior or graduate students who reside in the greater Kansas City areas and attending Kansas/Missouri schools. Students must be from Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte and Ray counts in Missouri and Johnson, Leavenworth,
Miami and Wyandotte counties in Kansas. Student must be a college senior or graduate
Student with at least a 3.0 grade point average. Applications are available at:

The Talbots Women’s Scholarship Fund application is available to women residing in the United States who have earned a HS degree or GED and are enrolled full time in the 2007-08 school year and have at least 24 credit hrs. more remaining for a degree.  Applications are available on line at www.talbots.com.  For more information

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation scholarship application is available to
high school seniors, high school graduates and currently enrolled undergraduate
students whose parent is an active duty, reserve, retired or deceased Marine and
whose 2006 family income is $65,000 or less. Applications are available on line
at www.mcsf.org. Deadline is March 1, 2008 for high school seniors, and April 15, 2008
for all other students.

 

William Randolph Hearst Endowed Fellowship for Minority Students. Website:
http://www.nonprofitresearch.org/. Award Amount: $5000.Details: The William Randolph Hearst Endowed Fellowship for Minority Students is available to minority undergraduate and graduate students. You must have a background in the social sciences or humanities and have excellent writing and communication skills to be eligible for this award. Winners of this award will participate in an internship for 10-12 weeks during the summer at
a Washington, DC office of the Aspen Institute.

AIA/Adolph Van Pelt Special Fund for Indian Scholarship.

Website: http://www.indian-affairs.org. Award Amount:$800. Details:The AAIA/Adolph Van Pelt Special Fund for Indian Scholarship is available to Native American and Alaskan Native students. An essay and two letters of recommendation are required for this
award. The award is based on financial need and academic merit.

Guaranteed GPA Scholarships:
Must be a continuing undergraduate student. Minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA. Scholarship recipients must attain a minimum 2.5 GPA for the fall semester to be eligible for the spring semester award amount. Upon written request, second-year seniors and students completing a second bachelor’s degree will be considered as available funds allow.
Based on cumulative GPA prior to the beginning of the academic year.
4.00 - 3.75 = $1,200
3.74 - 3.50 = $1,000
3.49 - 3.25 = $ 500

Capitol Federal Savings Scholarships:
Full-time undergraduate and graduate students who graduated from Kansas high schools, are pursuing a degree from the School of Business and have a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA. First preference will be given to students from Emporia, Kansas City, Lawrence, Manhattan, Topeka and Wichita. Contact the School of Business for more information.
