African-Amercian Monumental Life Settlement Scholarship:
Deadline: May 1st, 2012
Award: Five $1,000 scholarships for the Fall 2012 Semester
Requirements:
- African-American Student
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Enrolled in a Kansas accredited institution of higher learning during the 2011-2012 school year
- Majoring in mathematics, computer science, business, accounting, economics, finance, or investments
- Cumulative college GPA of 3.0 or better on 4.0 scale (official transcript required)
- Academic reference letter from a teacher or administrator at your university
- Must be available for an interview
- Short written essay

The Emporia Connection Legacy Scholarship
Purpose:
The Emporia Connection is the official alumni chapter designed to strengthen ties between African Amercian alumni, current and prospective ESU students and the University. The group is comprised of six decades of alumni who live throughout the U.S. The Alumni Association had challenged chapters to create a "legacy" therefore the Emporia Connection Scholarship was born.
Eligibility:
The Emporia Connection Legacy Scholarship was originally established to assist African American students attending Emporia State University. However, in compliance to the Federal law, the scholarship may be awarded to any student of any group and all studentsmay apply.
Scholarship Criteria:
- Students must be entering freshman or transfer students.
- Students of any major may apply.
- Students applying must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
